Kathleen Socha: Life, Family, Career and Public Information

The name Kathleen Socha appears in several public records, so it is important to distinguish between people who share the same name. The most common entertainment-related search for Kathleen Socha concerns the mother of British actors Michael Socha and Lauren Socha. Public biographies identify Kathleen, also known as “Kath,” as their mother. At the same time, another notable person named Kathleen Socha was Kathleen Fitzsimmons Socha, an American designer and businesswoman who died in 2014. There is also Kathleen L. Socha, a professional working in clinical education and nursing administration in the United States.

Because these are different individuals, information about their careers, ages, families and finances should not be combined. This article focuses primarily on the Kathleen Socha connected with Michael and Lauren Socha while also explaining the other notable records associated with the name.

Who Is Kathleen Socha?

Kathleen Socha is publicly known in entertainment-related searches as the mother of actors Michael Socha and Lauren Socha. Michael Socha was born in Derby, England, in 1987, while Lauren Socha was born there in 1990. Biographical records identify their parents as Robert Socha and Kathleen Lyons Socha. Michael is the older sibling, while Lauren later developed her own successful acting career.

Unlike her children, Kathleen has largely remained outside the entertainment spotlight. There is relatively little detailed biographical information about her personal life, education or professional career in major public sources. As a result, claims circulating online about her age, occupation, wealth or private life should be treated carefully unless supported by reliable documentation.

Kathleen Socha and Michael Socha

Kathleen became known to a wider online audience largely because of her son Michael Socha. Michael Robert Socha was born on December 13, 1987, in Derby, Derbyshire, England. He began acting professionally in the mid-2000s and appeared in films and television productions including This Is England, This Is England ’86, Being Human and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

Michael’s family background has therefore become part of his public biography. Sources identify Kathleen, sometimes referred to as “Kath,” as his mother. However, Michael has built his career independently, and publicly available biographies contain much more information about his professional work than about his mother’s personal life.

Kathleen Socha and Lauren Socha

Kathleen is also the mother of actress Lauren Socha, who became particularly recognized for playing Kelly Bailey in the British television series Misfits. Lauren was born in Derby on June 9, 1990, and is Michael Socha’s younger sister. Her biography identifies Robert and Kathleen Socha as her parents.

Lauren’s acting career developed after she became involved with local drama and performance opportunities. She later appeared in projects including The Unloved, Misfits, Plebs, Catastrophe and The Other One. Her connection to Kathleen is therefore another reason the name Kathleen Socha appears in entertainment-related searches.

Family Background

Publicly available information about Kathleen Socha herself is limited compared with the information available about her children. The family is associated with Derby, England, where Michael and Lauren grew up. Michael’s biography identifies his parents as Kathleen Lyons and Robert Socha, while Lauren’s biography likewise identifies Robert and Kathleen as her parents.

Some sources provide additional information about the family’s background, including the heritage of Robert Socha. However, because Kathleen has maintained a comparatively private public profile, there is not enough authoritative information to create a complete biography covering every part of her childhood, education and adult life.

Is Kathleen Socha an Actress?

Kathleen Socha herself should not be confused with her children. Michael Socha and Lauren Socha are the actors, while Kathleen is identified in their biographies as their mother. There is no strong reliable evidence establishing Kathleen as a professional actress.

This distinction is important because celebrity-family searches can sometimes cause information about one family member to be incorrectly attributed to another. Kathleen’s public association with the entertainment industry comes primarily through her children rather than through a documented acting career of her own.

Kathleen L. Socha: A Different Person

Another person who appears prominently in searches for this name is Kathleen L. Socha, a clinical education professional in the United States. The MGH Institute of Health Professions lists her as a Clinical Education Placement and Systems Associate for its Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

According to the institute, Kathleen L. Socha previously worked in clinical education for Simmons College between 2011 and 2015, covering nursing and physical therapy. Before moving to Boston, she worked as an administrative assistant at a tutoring center connected with the University of Saint Joseph in Connecticut. Her listed education includes a BA in English from the University of Hartford and an MBA with a Human Resources concentration from Fitchburg State University.

There is no basis for assuming that this Kathleen L. Socha is the same person as the mother of Michael and Lauren Socha.

Kathleen Fitzsimmons Socha

Another prominent individual with the name was Kathleen Fitzsimmons Socha, an American artist, designer and business executive. Her life and career are documented separately from the British family associated with Michael and Lauren Socha.

Kathleen Fitzsimmons Socha was born on January 20, 1949, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She later lived in Griffin, Georgia, where she developed a long professional career in commercial design. According to her obituary, she was the CEO, president and award-winning creative director of Phase One Design Service, Inc.

Her work reportedly included major commercial clients such as Coca-Cola, Chase Bank, Lowe’s, Chick-fil-A and NAPA. She also worked on design projects connected with the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the World Cup. Her business partner stated that the company grew from an initial investment of $600 to approximately $14 million, although that figure describes the company’s reported scale and should not be interpreted as Kathleen’s personal net worth.

When Did Kathleen Fitzsimmons Socha Die?

Kathleen Fitzsimmons Socha died on October 30, 2014, at the age of 65. Her obituary states that she died at her residence in Griffin, Georgia. It also records her birth date as January 20, 1949.

Her obituary describes a long career in design and business and notes her more than 35-year professional partnership with Andi Kulp. She was also remembered for her work as a speaker in retail design, advertising and graphic design.

Kathleen Socha Net Worth

There is no reliably verified public net-worth figure for the Kathleen Socha associated with Michael and Lauren Socha. Websites that provide precise wealth estimates without identifying a credible financial source should therefore be treated cautiously.

The same principle applies to Kathleen Fitzsimmons Socha. Although reports discuss Phase One Design Service reaching approximately $14 million in business scale, this is not evidence of her personal net worth. Company revenue, company value and an individual’s personal wealth are separate financial concepts.

For Kathleen L. Socha, there is likewise no reliable public source establishing a personal net-worth figure. Her professional role is documented, but private financial information is not.

Why Kathleen Socha Information Can Be Confusing

Searching for Kathleen Socha can produce information about several unrelated people. One is connected with British actors Michael and Lauren Socha, another is the late American designer Kathleen Fitzsimmons Socha, and another is Kathleen L. Socha, a nursing-education professional.

This is why details such as age, birthplace, occupation and net worth should always be checked against the correct individual. Combining information from different people can easily create an inaccurate biography.

For readers interested in the entertainment family, the most relevant fact is that Kathleen Socha is identified as the mother of Michael and Lauren Socha. Detailed personal information about Kathleen herself remains limited in major public sources.
